Hampshire and the Isle of Wight lead the south east region with the most number of people protected from Covid-19.
Following the 2024 spring programme, more than 180,000 eligible individuals took the vaccine, making the region deliver the national third-highest vaccinations delivered by the NHS Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
The uptake level was 65.7 percent, marking the highest in the southeast and fifth across the country.
Dr Matt Nisbet, clinical lead for the Covid Vaccination Programme at NHS Hampshire and Isle of Wight, said: “This phenomenal achievement could not have happened without a huge amount of hard work and collaboration between Primary Care Networks, community pharmacies and the COVID-19 vaccination programme team who glue all the bits of the system together.
“Our new roving vaccination vehicle was also launched this spring which has helped us reach members of our local communities who may not have otherwise come forward.
“I would like to thank all the teams across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight who have taken part in the campaign, which has led to the high levels of vaccination rates across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
“This will ultimately keep people and communities safe and healthy.”
