ANDOVER resident Sean Allen Green's voice cracks with a mix of frustration and desperation as he describes his living situation in private rented accommodation.
"This is horrible, my mental health is breaking down, and I'll probably die in here," said Sean, as he shared his story of being locked in a battle with mould, a lack of basic amenities, and 'inaction' from his landlord.
A resident of Calder Court in Riverway, the 39-year-old has been living in what he describes as "horrible conditions" for the past 18 months.
It is a privately rented four-bedroom house under the Test Valley Borough Council's housing scheme and it is managed by a private landlord. He said he shares the property with two other men.

But despite numerous complaints, his pleas for assistance have gone unanswered, leading to significant health issues and a deteriorating living condition.
The most concerning issue is the pervasive mould within the property.
"It is getting silly," he said.
The constant exposure to mould and the damp environment has taken a toll on Sean's physical and mental health.
"I am forced to use inhalers because of breathing problems from it. I've been hospitalised once because of breathing problems," he said, adding, "I also get seizures and stuff."
Despite a doctor's letter recommending immediate relocation, Sean said the council has remained unresponsive.
"It's getting worse and worse," he said. "The landlord does nothing, and I'm forced to sleep on a sofa, which has a big hole in it.
Sean added: "There is no hot water after the boiler man visited the house. I have a bad leg and can't even stand in the shower."

He said he first made his complaint to the council a couple of months ago, although he is a person who usually "tries to get on with things".
"But there's only so much I can take," he said. "I'm dying in here. I can't live with it anymore. I can't keep going on like this."
Despite the council suggesting Mr Green find a one-bedroom private house, his attempts have been unsuccessful, leaving him trapped in an increasingly dangerous environment.
A spokesperson for Test Valley Borough Council, said: “While this is a private rented property, our primary goal is to support tenants and landlords to ensure tenancies are a success.
“This is an ongoing case, and we are sorry to hear that Mr Green feels that we have not adequately addressed his complaints.
“When a tenant raises any issues, we will visit the property and make recommendations to the landlord to address the problem. We will then give the landlord time to undertake the work.
“We are due to revisit this property next week, and will be reviewing progress on previous actions, as well as following up on issues that have come to light as a result of this media enquiry.
“We will continue to work with Mr Green and his landlord to find a solution to the problems that have been identified.”
