HOLY Trinity Church in Penton Mewsey showcased more than 70 pieces of art from local talent on the first weekend of July.

Despite national sporting events potentially distracting the public, both days still saw a substantial visitor turnout.

Pieces ranged in value, with prices ranging from £5 to £775. Some art was simply on display, not for sale.

Young artist Isobel Portsmouth, aged 12, proved to be a hit, selling all three of her presented paintings.

One of her works, titled 'Startled Hare', remained on loan to the church for visitors to enjoy after the exhibition.

Among the offerings were artistic craft pieces, most notably a collection of meticulously crafted wood turned items by Vernon Needham.

Guests were invited to touch the work, adding to the attraction of the pieces.

In an intriguing deviation from the norm, Paul Booth displayed prints of pictures designed by AI, under his supervision.

However, these were not deemed competition for the authentic artworks.

The whole affair was made possible through the hard work of Patricia Moodie, who enlisted the various artists and curated the attractive displays, and Harriet Cooper, the event's organiser.
