A VILLAGE primary school has welcomed a new headteacher, who is looking forward to building relationships with families and the community.
Gemma Hill has been appointed as headteacher of Grateley Primary School.
Mrs Hill, who was previously deputy head of Endeavour Primary School’s Kirk Campus, joined on July 1.
She said: “It has been really great, you get to know families and children very quickly because it is a rural school and that is different to Endeavour.
“When I came to visit Grateley it just felt right, I left having a good feeling about the school.”
Mrs Hill said she is hoping to be able to utilise the school grounds further, by possibly launching a forest school, and is looking forward to working with the school’s PTA.
Outside of school Mrs Hill keeps busy with training for triathlon events and competes regularly. Her next challenge is the 70.3 Ironman in Weymouth.
