TO HEAR that the funding for the mental health wellbeing service is going to be cut by Hampshire County Council is disturbing news to hear. I am sure there are different services that could be cut, but not mental health.

No one really understands mental health, anxiety and depression and what it really feels like. The only person that understands mental health is the person that is suffering from it.

Mental health has life challenges, it's something that can never be seen, but the people that suffer from it understand what it feels like.

The emotional service this gives to people is just unbelievable. You could speak to somebody and not realise they are suffering from mental health.

The issues we have all been through since the pandemic have been unbelievable to young and old.

Mental health is very silent, people do not see this or understand what you are going through. It's something that goes on in your mind and its very hard to talk about.

It's a life threatening situation people have to cope with, even with people taking their own lives.

I have been through this myself, suffering a breakdown, struggling with every day life, also having to cope with putting on a brave face so no one knows, only you because its locked inside your head. You are the only one that can experience it and no one to talk to.

People not wanting to talk to you because they are worried or can’t understand you.

You might say something about what you are going through and rather than speak to you they would walk the other way.

But it is hidden and locked away in your mind. If you do feel you want to talk to someone this is what the mental health service is for. These cuts are dramatic to people who are suffering mental health and the stress of every day living.

Mental health does not have an age barrier.

Anyone can have mental health problems or a breakdown.

These kind of services are dramatically being cut. It is estimated that 10 million people in England will need support for their mental health as a result of the pandemic over the next three to five years.

All this will do is make mental health a bigger issue and more challenging for people that suffer with mental health and wellbeing.
