THE recycling centre in Andover was closed on Saturday, with a bomb disposal unit called to the scene.
Police and the Royal Navy EOD team, attended the centre, in Scott Close, at 11am on Saturday, July 27.
The site was closed for a number of hours following a report of a suspected unexploded ordnance being found.
The Royal Navy EOD team attended the recycling centre and confirmed that it did not pose any risk. The tip reopened at around 1.30pm.
A police spokesperson said: “We were called just before 11am on 27/7 to a report of a suspected unexploded ordnance at Andover Recycling Centre.
“The Royal Navy EOD team attended and confirmed this was not an item that posed any risk. The site was reopened at about 1.30pm.”
