ANDOVER motorists will have six road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And three of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• A303, from 8pm April 8 to 6am August 3, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A34 both directions M3, junction 9 to Three Maids Hill, carriageway closures for resurfacing work.

And a further five closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• A303, from 8pm July 29 to 6am July 30, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A303 westbound, Bullington, slip road and lane closures for roadmarkings work.

• A303, from 8pm July 29 to 6am July 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 both directions Thruxton to Parkhouse, lane closures for drainage work.

• A303, from 8pm July 30 to 6am July 31, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A34 northbound, Bullington, slip road and lane closures for roadmarkings.

• A34, from 8pm August 2 to 6am August 3, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A34 both directions Bullington to Whitchurch, lane closures for maintenance work.

• A34, from 8pm August 9 to 6am September 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 southbound to A303 westbound, link road and lane closures for barrier work.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule
