A “FANTASTIC and loyal” dad, husband, and son died of multiple injuries following a tragic crash while working in Iraq, an inquest heard.
Andy Turley, 59, from Andover, was fatally injured after he was struck by a moped in Erbil, Kurdistan, on December 1, 2022.
An inquest held at Winchester Coroner's Court concluded that Andy died from multiple injuries as a consequence of the crash.
The incident while he was crossing a road at night with his colleague David Caffrey, Asia Pacific security director at Baker Hughes, where Andy had been employed for the previous four years.

The inquest was attended by his wife Yolande, son Connor, daughter Kira, his mum Joan and other family members including his brother.
Yolande paid tribute to her husband at the inquest, describing him as a dedicated professional and a loving family man.
“He was loyal – both to the family and his job," she said. "He was dedicated to his job and was always working."
She also expressed shock at the circumstances of the crash, recalling their last conversation when he was in bed, adding that Andy never went out after going to bed without informing her due to the risks associated with his job.
Andy, who was previously in the Royal Engineers, had transitioned to the private security industry following his military service.
His extensive experience included stints in Iraq and Saudi Arabia, as well as a brief period with Network Rail, a job he left to return to security work.
The coroner Jason Pegg read out a statement given by Mr Caffrey in which he said he and Andy had gone out for dinner before returning to their hotel to watch a World Cup football match on the night of the incident.
Mr Caffrey added that Andy went to his room to speak to his wife before rejoining him to watch the game.
The pair then decided to go out for a drink at a nearby bar after midnight, Mr Caffrey said.
While crossing the road back to their hotel, they noticed a moped approaching from a distance.
However, as they began to cross, the moped closed in rapidly.
Mr Caffrey managed to lean forward, avoiding the vehicle, but Andy was struck, being thrown three to five metres into the air.
Mr Caffrey recounted the moments following the crash, describing how a crowd gathered and how he tried to keep Andy responsive and call for an ambulance.
Despite initial signs of responsiveness, Andy's condition deteriorated.
He was eventually taken to a hospital where he briefly regained consciousness before succumbing to his injuries.
His body was later repatriated to the UK.

A post mortem conducted in the UK found that Andy had sustained serious fractures to his left thigh, knee joint, upper arm, and pelvic area, but no head injuries were noted.
A toxicology report indicated the presence of some alcohol in his system, although Yolande said her husband was always in control and never excessively intoxicated.
The coroner concluded that a delay in providing medical care contributed to Andy's death after he suffered multiple fractures in the crash.
