AN ANDOVER mum is 'lifting the curtain on social media' and warning people about their social media habits.
Geo Ellen James previously worked in social media, including working on influencer campaigns for popular names such as L'Oréal, EA Games and Charlotte Tilbury.
The mum-of-two has now released her debut book, Click Me Baby One More Time, which aims to shed light on the detrimental impacts of social media.
Geo hopes to use her experience in the industry to give people an insight into how social media has affected people's relationships, not only with other people but also themselves.
The 31-year-old said: "I have been working behind the scenes in social media and the influencer world for about 15 years. I was one of the first before the industry exploded."
In the book, there are 'a lot of juicy stories' from Geo's experience, but it also holds up a mirror to the stark reality of our social media use.
"It needed to be bleak to shed that light, for people to realise how bad it is," Geo said.
"It is a good opportunity for people to question their own social media use. Are they verifying sources before liking and sharing?"

She continued: "I think a lot of people think their phone use or social media use is passive, but there is a lot of control being held in the hands of very few people in the world."
The book offers a 'deep dive' into how digital media has an impact on every part of our lives, from self-esteem to the way we vote and how we shop.
Geo, mother to Mars, three, and Sage, one, said the book is not 'all doom and gloom' and offers plenty of advice, including parenting in the digital age, how social media is impacting our mental health and self-worth in the age of filters.
The book has already had a positive response. Geo added: "People are saying that I'm the right person to tell the story.
"There aren't that many people who have had the career I've had and been so heavily involved.
"I have always sat between the influencers and celebrities, working really closely with TikTok, Facebook and YouTube, managing the influencers working on these platforms."
Geo pulled on her experience in the industry and took three years to write the book.
Click Me Baby One More Time is available to buy as a Kindle e-book or paperback on Amazon.
