THE best and worst GPs in Andover, according to patients, have been revealed following a survey of residents about the care they receive from their surgery.
Every year, the NHS surveys patients across the country, who are asked to give their opinions on their practice on a range of different topics from overall experience to how easy it is to contact the surgery.
In the Andover area, St Mary’s Surgery, in Church Close, was rated best for ‘overall experience’ of patients in the 2024 NHS patient survey.
The number of surveys completed varies from surgery to surgery and does not represent every patient who is registered at any one centre.
Not all practices are included as some might not have had enough patients complete the survey.
At St Mary’s, of the patients who responded, 93.7 per cent said their overall experience was good or very good.
In second place, was Stockbridge Surgery, in New Street, Stockbridge, which scored a satisfaction rating of 90.7 per cent.
What about the worst?
At the other end of the scale, but not by much, was Shepherds Spring Medical Centre, Cricketers Way.
Of the patients who responded 74 per cent said their overall experience of the surgery was good or very good.
Hovering just above was Adelaide Medical Centre, in Adelaide Road, where 74.2 per cent of patients were happy.
