ANDOVER Chamber Choir has raised hundreds for a charity helping young people with essential life skills.

The choir held its summer concert at St Peter’s Church, St Mary Bourne, on July 20, and raised £972.63 for the Yellow Brick Road Projects.

The evening of part-songs and folk songs from across the British Isles ‘went down well’, with the building being made available for a small donation, this meant that almost all of the ticket money could be donated to the charity.

During the event, Fiona Coates from Yellow Brick Road Projects spoke briefly about the charity’s work, and an optional retiring collection added to the money raised.

Following the concert, the funds were presented to charity founder and CEO Siobhan Down by choir chairman Bruce Randall.

Yellow Brick Road Projects works with young people both locally and nationally to overcome homelessness, abusive relationships and helping those trying to break free from drug and gang culture. By engaging with young people the charity aims to support them in learning skills, reducing the impact of poverty and the risk of homelessness.
