A woman in her 20s was racially abused by a man while walking in the Picket Piece area.
The incident occurred in Locksbridge Road at around 2.15pm on Tuesday, August 6, when the woman noticed a man staring at her from across the street.
He then crossed the road, approached her from behind, and began hurling racial slurs.
Despite the woman attempting to walk away, the man reportedly followed her for at least five minutes.
She was eventually able to report the abuse to the police.
The suspect is described as a white male in his 60s, approximately 5ft 2in tall with greying hair.
He was wearing a white polo shirt and grey or beige cargo shorts on the day of the incident.
He also has a mole on one of his little fingers.
Hampshire Constabulary is urging anyone with information about the targeted incident, or who may recognise the man based on the description, to come forward.
