PEOPLE enjoying a peaceful morning walk around Anton Lakes were met with an unexpected sight on Thursday, August 29 - a bullock that had managed to escape its field and was roaming freely near the popular spot.
One of the walkers, Brian Cartwright, who came across the bullock, quickly contacted the police.
Officers arrived promptly to handle the situation and ensure the animal was safely returned to its owner.
The incident occurred in the morning, when the area is frequented by residents taking advantage of the quiet paths.
Fortunately, the bullock did not cause any harm or significant disruption.
A police spokesperson said: "We were called at 10.23am today, 29 August, to reports of a bull getting loose near to Anton Lakes. Officers attended, along with a ranger, and the bull was returned to their owner."
