THERE was plenty of neon on display as The Lights in Andover played host to an 80s-themed party.

Castledown FM organised the event which took place on Saturday, August 31, with a large turnout including many in fancy dress.

Chris Jackson, who organised the night, said: "This was a real challenge that I set myself way back in the pandemic, to try and organise at the right time and hopefully bring back a regular decent 80s night to the town.

"I felt we all needed a reason to dance again after such sad times and everyone that supported this event deserves a big 'thank you,' as the efforts with the fancy dress costumes, and being bothered to buy tickets, really helped make all the team's efforts worth it."

DJs Colin Daborn and Kev Lawrence got the crowd on the floor dancing from 7pm, but Chris did a diverse hour, much like his radio show, of some 80s lesser known tracks as well as many that were also well known.

Guest DJ Jon Simmonds took the crowd home with big 80s club tunes.

Chris and Castledown FM have thanked attendees and everyone involved, including The Lights' team and Venture security.
