Residents of Old Raven House care home in Basingstoke enjoyed a late summer outing to the Hawk Conservancy Trust in Andover.
The trip started with a picnic lunch followed by a stroll around the aviaries, admiring a variety of birds on display.
The highlight of the day came at the seated display area, where dozens watched an aerial display. Despite the windy conditions, the birds performed swooped and soared, often flying within feet of the onlookers.
Anne Turner, home manager at Old Raven House, commented on the success of the trip: “The residents had a wonderful time at the Hawk Conservancy Trust. It was a day filled with awe and excitement, especially watching the birds in flight. It’s always a pleasure to see our residents enjoying new experiences, and this outing was the perfect way to close our summer activities.”
Earlier this year residents enjoyed a canal boat trip, with a scenic journey from Odiham to Winchfield and a day out at Hollycombe Steam in Liphook complete with a picnic, fairground experience and railway journey.
