Children from the Wallop Primary School will be joined by the relative of one of the first airmen to be killed in World War Two, as they prepare to mark Remembrance Day.
Acting Pilot Officer Oliver Croom Johnson from RAF Middle Wallop was 27 years old when he was killed in 1940.
His nephew, also called Oliver, will give a short speech after observing a Two Minutes Silence. Organisers of the service, at the Over Wallop War Memorial on November 11, say ‘this act will make a living link with our war dead’.
The children will complete the ceremony by placing crosses on the War Graves.
This year the Remembrance Day Service in Andover will take place from 10am on Sunday, November 10, on Andover High Street.
