Organisers of Enham Trust’s Summer Fete say they’re jubilant at the generosity of local people at this year’s event.
The Disability charity, in partnership with Enham Alamein Parish Council, raised almost £5,000.
The event on Saturday, September 14 in the village included live performances, a scarecrow competition and dance workshops.
The much-anticipated return of the Dog show, in which Ted took home first place for ‘Best Rescue Dog’, was one of the highlights.
The annual end-of-Summer fete invites both the village and surrounding community to come together and celebrate the charity’s work, raising funds to support disabled people.
Enham’s Fundraising Manager, Georgina Dawes, said: “We’ve seen an almost £1,000 increase on last year’s fete fundraising total which is a true testament to the wonderful community that is Enham and a shining example of the amazing things we can do when we come together.
"We are extremely grateful to all who volunteered, attended and organised the event, and we are in no doubt that next year’s fete will impress once again.”
The organising committee is now turning its sights towards their upcoming Christmas Fayre and Light Switch-On on Saturday, November 30 (2pm – 5pm), shortly followed by the reopening of Enham’s own 20,000 strong Christmas Tree field in December where the public can come along and pick their very own Christmas Tree.
