Two brothers have opened an American-style diner in Andover, specialising in hog roasts and wraps.
Kyle Bayliss, 32 and his brother Casey Chappell, 34 welcomed guests to the restaurant - The Pig & Sty - in the Chantry Centre when it opened two weeks ago.
The brothers agreed that supporting local producers and charities was top of their agenda. Kyle said: "Most of our suppliers are within a 15-mile radius of Andover and that includes where we source our vegetables and coffee, not just the meat."
Kyle has lived in the town for ten years and gained experience in the food and hospitality sector while managing a mobile catering van.
He said: "We were looking for a starting point and Test Valley Council offered us this pop-up shop in the town centre. Andover High Street is sometimes looked at in a negative light, but it has a thriving environment and we want to bring that back."
Kyle added: "We want to reach out to local charities to support them with fundraising events, whether it's youth projects or events for the elderly."
The restaurant is already attracting rave reviews. Diner Donna Skiller, 37 said she was impressed: "It's really nice, you can't get this food anywhere else in Andover, it's very special."
Amalee March, 22 agreed. She and her friend, Badger had just finished their lunch. "We're satisfied customers, I think they'll do really well here. We need more diverse places like this, we're giving it a massive thumbs up."
