Organisers of a charity dinner and auction to raise funds for survivors of domestic and sexual abuse in Andover have praised the generosity of guests after netting £10,344.
Guests at the Finding Freedom From Abuse event included the MP for Romsey and Southampton North, Caroline Nokes, the Mayor and Mayoress of Test Valley and the Chief Executive of Test Valley Borough Council.
The event was sponsored by Empath Security, Wessex H&R and Charlotte Strength Coach.
Test Valley Councillor, Iris Anderson praised the generosity of those who attended and said it was an incredibly worthwhile cause: "It’s very close to a lot of people’s hearts, nobody really talks about abuse and so often people escape terrible circumstances just in the clothes they’re standing in. It’s become a hidden story in people’s lives."
