Students of an Andover school have excelled in their recent London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art (LAMDA) exams, achieving distinctions across the board.
Pupils of Rookwood School in Weyhill Road undertook a variety of exams ranging from Entry Level to Grade 6, with subjects including Solo Acting, Verse and Prose, Public Speaking, Reading for Performance, and Duologue Acting.
LAMDA exams are renowned for their ability to build confidence, hone presentational skills, and develop a child’s capacity to engage with and evaluate the written word.
These invaluable life skills help students succeed not just in drama, but across all areas of their education and personal growth.

“Our students’ dedication and passion for the performing arts are reflected in these fantastic results," she said.
"To achieve all distinctions is an extraordinary feat and demonstrates the exceptional talent and hard work of our students.”
One of the youngest students, Minerva, a Year 6 pupil who only began her LAMDA journey this term, shared her excitement about the lessons.
“My LAMDA lessons are really fun as I get the chance to play different characters with different personalities," she said.
"I also think that LAMDA will help me to grow as a person, developing my confidence and self-esteem.”
In addition to enhancing communication and interpretive skills, LAMDA’s higher-level exams (Grades 6, 7, and 8) carry UCAS points, providing further benefits to students aiming for university entrance.
