An Andover woman has avoided jail after she took a kitchen knife to a chapel.

Alicia Cain, 23, of Dene Court, pleaded guilty to possession of a fixed-bladed kitchen knife when she was St Mary’s Chapel in New Street on August 11.

Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court gave her a conditional discharge order of six months.

Cain was also ordered to pay £40 costs, and £26 surcharge.
