A SPECIAL football tournament is taking place in aid of World Mental Health Day.
Kick Start FC is hosting a Mental Health Awareness Football Tournament on World Mental Health Day, Thursday, October 10, to raise awareness about mental health through the unifying power of football.
The event, hosted at The Wellington Academy, Ludgershall, will feature 60 participants from Kick Start’s men’s, women’s, and walking football therapy sessions, engaging in a mixed-gender tournament that encourages conversation and community support around mental health issues.
Kick Start FC, known for using football as a tool for mental health therapy, offers a welcoming space for individuals to connect, build confidence, and improve both their mental and physical well-being.

This tournament showcases the therapeutic potential of sport and emphasises the importance of mental health.
Through their KitUnlocker initiative and as a proud supporter of Kick Start FC, Kitlocker has provided over £2,000 worth of kit to the charity and is dedicated to empowering grassroots organisations like Kick Start FC, to help them access the best-quality apparel and resources needed to grow and make an impact in their communities.
This is part of Kitlocker’s wider commitment to charity initiatives and organisations with values that align to Kitlocker’s brand values.
Last month, Kitlocker supported War Child to produce their ‘Zo Kwe Zo’ football kit to highlight their support for people suffering through conflict in the Central African Republic.
