AN ANDOVER school will install an enclosure around its swimming pool to allow its students to use the facility 'regardless of the weather'.
Rookwood School submitted an application on July 17 to erect a plastic and aluminium cover around its outdoor swimming pool.
The school says that 'because of the vagaries of the UK weather, swimming class timing is far from perfect'.

They added that classes are often cancelled and moved due to wind and rain and an enclosure would provide 'great protection' to allow for 'consistent swimming sessions regardless of the weather'.
The application states that the enclosure, which will be connected to the changing rooms for pupils, would 'provide convenience and comfort for students using the pool'.
It concluded that the proposals would be a 'practical and beneficial addition' to the school's facilities that could be used by pupils and Summer School attendees.
Test Valley Borough Council approved the application in a decision made on Monday, October 14, subject to conditions.
In the notice of approval, the council has said that use of the pool must be restricted to between 7.30am and 5.45pm from Monday to Friday. The facilities must not be used at thee weekend, or on public holidays, TVBC added.
Rookwood School, in Weyhill Road, was founded in 1935. The private school offers independent and boarding education for children from the age of two to 18.
