A college has partnered with a renowned hairstylist to offer students "world-class" education.

Andover College has teamed up with the Lee Stafford Education Academy to give students the chance to learn from award-winning stylist Lee Stafford.

Students will receive 'Michelin Standard' training in up to 22 skills and techniques, and will learn Lee's hair styling recipes.

They will also have the chance to compete in national competitions with other Lee Stafford Academy students.

Lee helped students during his visit to the college (Image: Stewart Turkington) Assistant principal Helen Perry said: "Partnering with Lee Stafford education is hugely exciting for staff and students at Andover Campus.

"Together we are committed to equipping our students with the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to excel in the ever-evolving hairdressing industry, enhancing our existing curriculum, Lee Stafford Academy will bring exciting opportunity, a wealth of industry knowledge and the highest of standards, preparing the students for successful futures in the industry."

Lee visited the college on Wednesday, October 9, to officially launch the first of his Lee Stafford Education Academies in Hampshire.

He held a demonstration of his Twisted Tong hair recipe before supporting students in the salon.

The visit gave students the opportunity to discuss their next steps and gain insight and advice from Lee’s 43 years' experience in the hair industry.

In an interview with the college, Lee summarised this venture by saying: "Our partnership with Andover College is all about equipping the students with competence and confidence and inspiration so they can leave the college and thrive and succeed in the hair world."
