The installation of four charging bays for electric cars at the Churchill Retail Park in New Street goes before Andover Town Council on Monday (October 21).
Proposals submitted to Test Valley Borough Council include charging units and a ‘feeder’ pillar surrounded by eight bollards and associated landscaping.
The application, made last month by BP Pulse has already been approved by the Highway Authority, although Alistair McMurray, of Hampshire County Council noted: “The proposal would result in the minor loss of parking provision, however the Highway Authority would raise no significant concerns in this regard given the nature and location of the proposal.”

The applicant said: ‘The central imperative of the development, at this Site and others nationwide, is part of the inevitable and essential move away from hydrocarbons into a world where net zero carbon transport is the norm.’
In January a new ‘ultra-rapid’ charging facility of four charging bays was opened at Columbus Way just off the Andover Down roundabout and within a two-minute drive from the A303.
