AN INQUEST has opened after the body of a man was discovered at a town centre retail park.

Petro Branislav, 48, of no fixed address, was discovered dead at Churchill Retail Park, Churchill Way, on May 2.

An inquest into his death was opened at Winchester Coroners' Court on Tuesday, October 22 by assistant coroner Kiran Chahal.

Ms Chahal said that Mr Branislav's body was found by a Carpetright employee in a bin at the back of the retail park while he was unloading a van.

An ambulance was called, with Mr Branislav being pronounced dead at the scene.

The preliminary cause of death has been given as Mmethadone and alcohol toxicity.

The full inquest has been adjourned and will be heard in full at Winchester Coroners' Court on August 13 next year.
