After more than a decade of planning discussions and building works, the Over Wallop Community Pavilion will be officially opened this week-end.
The Rt Hon Caroline Nokes MP and the Mayor and Mayoress of Test Valley will officiate at the ceremony and will be joined by supporters and their families.
The Over Wallop Cricket Team will serve tea and cakes while visitors will be given the opportunity to look around the new community building.
The project was funded by the Community Ownership Fund and Test Valley Borough Council as well as the local community.
The Chair of Over Wallop Parish Council, Kate Dixon said: "The venue will provide a much-needed sports facility in the Test Valley, it has been 15 years in discussion, five years in planning and nine months to build, but it's been worth it."
Last year Over Wallop Parish Council was awarded £266,500 in the latest round of levelling up funding for the project. Kate Dixon was praised by fellow councillors for her 'tireless work to secure the necessary funding'.
The opening ceremony will start at 2pm this Saturday, October 26. The address is Over Wallop Pavilion, Salisbury Lane, Over Wallop, SO20 8JJ
