Plans to demolish a stable block and build nine houses near a fishing lake off Goch Way, Charlton are to be discussed by planners despite coming under fire from residents earlier this year.
Locals raised concerns with Test Valley Borough Council in April about ‘potential devastating pollution’ being caused to the lake.
The owner of the lakeside fishing company, Mr Webb, said: “I can see a real threat here to our business and the wider environment, it is without doubt that this proposed development will cause great harm.”
The plan was withdrawn last November but Irongate Developments has submitted a second application.
The company plan to build a mixture of two, three and four bedroom houses with new access, parking and landscaping.
A planning document submitted by the applicants states: "The proposal responds positively to the minimum housing requirement with these family homes in a walkable location in the urban area with good access to local services, facilities and public transport.
"This proposal would be deliverable in the short term and increase the supply and choice of housing at a Major Centre, while contributing to economic growth."
