A SHOE shop has submitted an application to install a hanging sign on the side of the store, as part of a wider town regeneration project.
G. Dowling and Son, in 12-14 Bell Street, Whitchurch, submitted an application to install a new hanging sign as part of a planned refresh to the shop front.
The business was set up in 1946, selling the shoes and sizes that people were struggling to find.
As part of a makeover to the shop front, the business submitted an application to Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council to install a sign measuring 90.5cm x 90.5cm.

The sign, made from painted aluminium dibond, will display the business logo in the colours of marine blue and loft white, matching the colours of the existing shop paintwork, fitted in a black metal bracket.
It is applying to Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council's Town and Village Centre Fund to form part of the wider Whitchurch Town Regeneration Project which has also seen the likes of Kudos Coffee and Wild Rose & Felicity Hall apply for new hanging signs.
The application was submitted on Wednesday, October 30 and a decision is yet to be made.
