A SPECIAL Remembrance Day concert is being performed in Andover this weekend.

Andover Town Band will mark Remembrance Day with a Festival of Remembrance.

The festival will take place at 7.30pm on Saturday, November 9, in Andover Community Church on Charlton Road.

Tickets cost £10 for adults and £2.50 for children and can be purchased from David Mellor Jewellers in the Chantry Centre.

Andover Town Band are a "hard-working, friendly, progressive and busy" group of musicians catering for all musical abilities, from the absolute beginner through to the aspirational player aiming to play to the highest of standards.

It also competes at local, regional and national competitions. In April 2022 Andover Town Band came fourth out of 15 bands in the West Of England Regional Championships, playing the set test peice Spectrum composed by Gilbert Vinter. As a result, Andover Town Band has been promoted to the West of England Championship section for 2023 for the first time in its history.
