THE Town Council has once again objected to plans to build 25 homes in Picket Piece after amended plans were submitted, citing there is no detail on "future-proofing."
As previously reported, Mr and Mrs A Dale have submitted an application to Test Valley Borough Council for a development on land north of Walworth Road.
The applicants say the scheme includes a “wide opportunity for home ownership, including a range of affordable housing, a generous area of public open space and financial contributions towards improving services and infrastructure”
The application site is approximately 1.20 hectares and is a currently undeveloped field.

Mr and Mrs Dale were previously granted outline permission for up to 30 homes in March 2019, and in 2022, they submitted a reserved matters application but this was later withdrawn due to a number of concerns by council planners, including the quality of the layout and appearance of the proposed development, a net loss of biodiversity and car parking, to name just a few.
The current application is said to have “sought to address these previous concerns”.
Amended plans and information submitted including revisions to the dwelling and internal road layouts, and updated technical reports have since been submitted.
Having looked at amended site plans, submitted on October 31 this year, Andover Town Council once again objected to the proposed development.
A response published by Micha Young, deputy RFO for Andover Town Council, states that the council is "Unable to clearly see what the revised details of the plans are. Nitrate Neutrality has not been addressed."
It continues that "no details on future proofing" are given, including "provision of heat pumps or electric charging points."
Reference is also made to a lack of detail on infrastructure, including "provision of cycle paths or walking pathways."
It adds: "This should be provided in the interest of health and safety.
"Previous objection raised still valid."
