A NEW woodland sauna experience has opened at a 'secret' location in Hampshire with plunge baths, showers and woodland walks.

The saunas on the two sites are both just a few miles outside of Stockbridge and Andover. However, the exact location, which is on private property, is kept secret and is only given to visitors who have booked.

Opened by Tuhka Talo – which translates to ash house in Finnish – the authentic wood-fired sauna experience near Stockbridge, allows visitors to immerse themselves in the deeply restorative tradition of contrast therapy, where the soothing warmth of a sauna is paired with the invigorating chill or a cold-water plunge.

The handcrafted traditional wood-fired saunas are uniquely situated in serene, private natural settings at two sites, with either a rustic sauna next to a lake at The Fallen Willow Sauna or the newly launched Woodland Sauna – a spacious sauna with plunge baths, showers and woodland walks.

The new woodland sauna also has an events tent for collaborations with yoga teachers, sound-bath therapists and forest bathing.

Open all year, the sites are available for private or community bookings for those looking to unwind and enjoy relaxing in nature.

The Fallen Willow and The Woodland Sauna are the inspiration of partners Jo Caley and Jonathan Grobler who have a shared passion for bringing wellbeing, friendship and health to the community.

Yoga teacher Jo is a cold-water swimming enthusiast and a keen advocate for healthy living, empowering and encouraging others to take control of their own health, happiness and wellbeing.

Jon, from South Africa, is an outdoor enthusiast of the countryside where he is often found mountain biking, hiking or kayaking.

Explaining the benefits of contrast therapy, Jo said: “Extensive research supports the many benefits of contrast therapy – alternating between hot and cold environments and our saunas provide the perfect setting to immerse yourself in this therapeutic practice, surrounded by nature’s beauty and tranquillity.”
