LEWIS Hamilton is in pole position for the award, according to Manchester United fan and Andover resident Paul Jerome.
He said the driver deserves the prize for reaching the top of his profession at a young age – but that several Olympians who added to Team GB’s record breaking gold medal haul are also in with a chance.
He added: “I love football and Man United did brilliantly last season, and Ronaldo in particular, but he’s got enough awards already.”
