THE son of Appleshaw rector the Rev Canon Ian Tomlinson was the country’s top first class wicket taker last season.
In a tribute to his amazing achievement the ARC magazine says that Hampshire’s James Tomlinson took 67 wickets, which was two more than England speed merchant Steve Harmison.
The magazine points out that James was helped by his supreme fitness, which enabled him to bowl a lot of overs – and he also achieved a very respectable 24 runs per wicket.
