HAMPSHIRE Constabulary has been honoured as the UK’s top police force for lesbian, gay and bisexual (LGB) officers and staff.
The force has been ranked second nationally in the Stonewall Workplace Equality Index 2009, which lists Britain’s top 100 employers for LGB people. The force was also the top public sector organisation.
Chief Constable Alex Marshall, pictured, said: “It’s fantastic news. A huge effort has gone into this organisation in recent years to make sure people feel comfortable and valued. This recognition is the icing on the cake.”
