FOREST Forge theatre company is exploring the enchanting and atmospheric roots of one of the best-loved tales as they tour with their new adaptation of Ashputtel, the original Brothers Grimm version of the classic story of Cinderella.
Using five talented actor-musicians the piece blends an inventive, physical storytelling style with original live music and song to re-imagine the Grimms’ iconic story for a new modern audience looking past the sugar sweetness and pantomime elements of more conventional Christmas tellings to the authentic story at their heart.
The production features puppets and the show tours to village halls, theatres and arts centres across the region from 13 November until 16 January.
