THE London Mozart Players join their James Galway and Friends for a special 70th birthday concert at The Anvil on 1 December.
Sir James Galway is regarded as both the supreme interpreter of the classical flute repertoire and a consummate entertainer whose appeal crosses all musical boundaries.
To celebrate his 70th birthday he and his friends bring a delightful programme which includes flute concertos by Vivaldi, Cimarosa and Mercadante as well as highlights some of his favourite pieces looking back over his distinguished career.
He also features contemporary music in his programme including new flute works commissioned from composers such as Corigliano, Heath, Lieberman and Maazel.
As well as a distinguished classical career he has worked with such people as Cleo Laine, Henry Mancini, Sir Neville Marriner and The Chieftans to name just a few.
Through his extensive touring, over 30 million albums sold and frequent international television appearances Sir James has endeared himself to millions worldwide.
