AN expert author, journalist and eco-animal campaigner will be the guest of honour at the first ever Reading Eco Veggie Fayre on 19 December.
Tony Wardle, associate director of Viva!, Europe's largest campaigning animal organisation, will be delivering an inspirational talk at the event at Reading Town Hall. 'Save the World with your Knife and Fork', starting at 1pm, will examine the impact of meat and dairy consumption on the environment.
It will draw on Tony's extensive knowledge on the topic following the publication of Viva!'s groundbreaking report, Diet of Disaster. The talk will be followed by a screening of the award winning climate change film, 'The Age of Stupid,' starring Pete Postlethwaite, at 2pm and a debate: 'Should Reading Adopt a Meat Free Day?' at 4pm. Reading Eco Veggie Fayre, which runs from 11am- 6pm, will also feature products, advice , demonstrations and inspiration to help people reduce their carbon footprint by going veggie.
