ANDOVER’S only music and DVD store is due to cease trading next week after its temporary lease in The Chantry Centre expired.
National retailer HMV came to Andover at the beginning of November for the Christmas period and shoppers were pleased to have a dedicated music store back in the town.
A statement from HMV said: “We’ve loved having a ‘pop-up shop’ trading temporarily in Andover over the Christmas period and would like to thank all our customers during this time.
“Unfortunately, we’re not in a position to turn this into a permanent store but hopefully we can look at the ‘pop-up shop’ solution again in future.”
Steve Cotney, manager of The Chantry Centre, had hoped the company would want to stay on in the town as a permanent fixture.
