A NEW children's theatre show telling the tragic tale of the burning of an Indonesian rainforest is being performed at South Street in Reading on 24 January at 11.30am and 2pm.
The Lost Forest is performed by Indigo Moon Theatre who filmed the burning and, having lived there, they felt the plight of the people and animals who were losing their homes to the greed of multi-national logging corporations.
Ideal for children over five-years-old the story manages to have a positive ending.
There's magic and mayhem in the rainforest - animals' homes are at risk as bulldozers and diggers crash their way through trees and foliage.
Who will come to the rescue and fight the evil Endorro?
Indigo Moon use traditional colourful rod puppets from West Java combined with stunning visual rainforest projections.
The animals are created using shadow theatre techniques and powerful original music brings the story of the tropical rainforest to life.
Tickets costing £6.50 are available from the box office on 0118 960 6060 or online at www.readingarts.com
