DIVISION 1 leaders Tigers recorded a handsome 28-9 win at Hanson Jaguars in the Andover Table Tennis League.
Andy Snellgrove won his usual three, ably supported by Tony Brown who played up for Tigers. Tony was taken to five games by Sue Purton before coming through 6-11, 0-11, 12-10, 13-11, 8-11.
Trevor Whitelock (Jaguars) won one but pushed Andy hard before losing 4-11, 11-8, 9-11, 11-6, 5-11.
Hanson Dolphins went down 14-26 to Hanson Cougars for whom Steve Harris and Nick George both recorded three each. Paul Raymond and Mike Cartridge (Dolphins) both beat Gerry Vaughan who unfortunately chose this moment to try out a new rubber on his bat which proved quite a problem for him. The doubles proved to be a very close match when Paul and Dom Raymond just lost out to Steve and Nick 13-11, 11-9, 9- 11, 9-11, 7-11.
In Division 2 Enham came up against division leaders Hanson Panthers and lost 5-28.
Panthers were in control with James Taylor and Andy Farmer recording three each, however, Peter Farmer (Enham) played exceptionally well to beat Dave Broomfield in four, 12-10, 11-7, 2-11, 12-10.
The second placed team in this division, 3D’s, recorded an excellent 8-30 win at Hanson Falcons to keep within three points of Panthers.
Nicky Downs, Jessie Yi and Marie Dyke all got maximums but Jessie had to work hard to defeat Sarah Medland 7-11, 11-4, 12- 10, 8-11. 5-11 and Jill Cook 11-7, 9-11, 14-12, 6- 11, 6-11. The doubles went to 3D’s when Marie and Nicky beat Jill and Sarah 3-11, 10- 12, 11-7, 12-10, 6-11.

Pidgeons are a young team but can fight for the points and certainly showed this when Nathan and Adam Shears and Blade Medland all beat Darren Walkom.
