ANDOVER Town Youth FC under-14s went on tour after entering the Manchester International Cup and faced teams from all around the world including South Africa, Gibraltar and Romania.
The first day saw group games to decide the final fours the next day.
In the semi-final, Andover were drawn against CMT from South Africa and ended 2-2 after Finn Tonks netted twice. With no extra time it went straight to penalties, normal 11 a side five pens each, Taelor Richen, Kai Gowing, Solomon Sale, Max Godson scored three after a great reaction save saw Gowring denied.
Kian Timms scored the final penalty and Alfie Marchment stood big in goal and CMT's final penalty taker blasted it over the bar.
The final saw Andover face Arbroath and the Scottish side soon led 2-0 after 10 minutes. Town hit back as Godson and Callum Young scored to level things. After the interval, Town looked comfortable and thanks to Godson and Tonks secured a 4-2 victory.
Zac Western, Thomas Green, Tom McGarel , Alfie Boother, Makhi Twigg were outstanding as were the above mentioned. The team would like to thank the Fancy dress shop for their away kit sponsorship, Andover Fireplace Warehouse for their continual generosity for kitting the squad out and Sainsburys for the water and fruit supply.
