ANDOVER'S Jake Archer is set to race at Donington Park on the GP circuit this weekend.
Archer, who competes in the British GP2 (Moto2) category of the British Superbike Championship, returns to the track off the back of two eight place finishes at the last round in Assen.
The GP circuit at Donington includes the Melbourne loop making it a 2.5 mile circuit that has previously been used for MotoGP events. Earlier this year Archer had two fourth place finishes, his best of the season, on the National circuit at Donington.
The reigning British Moto3 Champion currently sits 8th on 127 points after 10 rounds of the 12 round championship in his first Moto2 season.
Archer said: "I’m looking forward to more time on the Kalex Moto2 bike. Whilst we know it has taken longer to adjust than we had hoped, we are improving each race weekend.
"After winning the Moto3 championship last year, this year was always about learning the bigger machine.
"The Donington GP circuit was the opening weekend last season but the Moto3 class didn’t get to race there. At the end of May this year we did well on the National circuit so I am looking forward to returning.”
