Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties and West London has donated £500 to Andover Town Youth FC, which will allow the club to purchase brand-new equipment.
The cash boost from the developers will be used to invest in rebound boards, pop-up goals and mannequins as well as SAQ (Speed, Agility and Quickness) equipment for its members, who are aged between six and 18 years old.
As a result of the pandemic, the club has been unable to host its annual ‘Festival of Football’, which invites teams across the region to play matches, whilst raising money to support the club and its players.
Thanks to the donation from Taylor Wimpey, the club is able to get back to training with new equipment, following a lengthy absence.
Dr Stuart Armstrong, manager of the U9’s team, said: “We were delighted to receive this donation from Taylor Wimpey.
“It’s been a difficult year for everyone, including our club and our members. With the funds we have now received, we will be able to provide a bit of normality for our players and offer them the chance to train with brand new equipment.”
“We’d like to say a big thank you once again to the developers for their support, we are really grateful and our players will benefit from this for years to come.”
Roz Wells, sales and marketing director at Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties, said: “We’re passionate about supporting the communities in which we build and we’re happy to be helping Andover Town Youth FC, as they play such an important role in the local community.”
“We want to wish the club a smooth transition back to training and playing matches.”
Gemma Bibby, sales and marketing director at Taylor Wimpey West London, added: “Clubs like Andover Town Youth FC are vital to our communities as they give youngsters the chance to socialise, learn new skills and build confidence. We are delighted to offer our support to the club and wish the team every success in the upcoming season.”
