Former Zimbabwe international batsman/wicketkeeper Richmond 'Richie' Mutumbami (right) has joined fellow countryman John Nyumbu at Andover, who won promotion back into Southern Premier Division 1 by finishing runners-up to SPL2 champions Hambledon last summer.
The 33-year old has made 71 appearances in all three formats for Zimbabwe, principally in white ball cricket, and marked his Lions debut with a half-century in the narrow defeat by Totton & Eling at Southern Gardens, writes Mike Vimpany.
He plays provincial cricket for Southern Rocks and played alongside the now-retired Gary Ballance and Hampshire's Nick Gubbins in the recent T20 competition.
Nyumbu topped the SPL1 bowling charts in his debut Andover season, taking 38 wickets. He has been re-appointed captain.
Teenage batting prospect Sam Ashman has joined the Hampshire Academy, but Andover have snapped up emerging pair Oli and Josh Williams, who both shone for Sparsholt last season.
Sparsholt were relegated but Oli Williams scored over 450 runs and took 21 wickets, while Josh made 351 runs, including a century against champions Alton, also chipping in with 14 wickets.
