The CONVOY on the Plain took place at Thruxton over the weekend, writes Tim Crisp.
This is one of the outstanding events at the circuit each year with big crowds, and this year was no different, with racing across Saturday and Sunday in mixed weather conditions for both cars and trucks.
In the BTRC races, there were two wins for Ryan Smith and one apiece for Stuart Oliver and John Bowler in Division one, and in Division two.
There were two wins each for Paul Rivett and John Powell around the 2.35-mile Hampshire Circuit.

There was local interest in the Kumho BMW Championship with Kimpton's Jamie Sturges in his Ramair Filters BMW E28 532 with two second in class results finishes.
In the OT Publishing Coupe Cup with Toyo Tires championship, Darren Banks was in action in the Hyundai Coupe where he recorded a 10th and DNF results.
In the Morphmy Caterham Sigma 135 Stockbridge racer Lydia Gould finish 11th and ninth in the two races.
In the Pick up Truck Racing Championship Paul Tompkins finished fifth and sixth, Russell Smith recorded 19th and 18th place results, and Dean Tompkins scored two eighth-place finishes.
The meeting was cut short due to an incident in the truck race. So in the final race of the day, local driver Ray Ferguson scored his second class win in the Lancaster Insurance MG Owners Club Championship following on from a first race earlier on during the day in his MG ZR.
