COLLINGBOURNE Cricket Club saw a revival of fortunes on Saturday, June 15 as Aaron Hitchmough and Mark Montgomery established a new club record.
The pair grabbed 211 runs in their opening partnership against Wilton Cricket Club from Salisbury.
Hitchmough continued to make personal records, securing his highest individual score of 182, while Montgomery closed at 92, his top score for Collingbourne.
The team's achievement of 325-2 as the innings ended marked their best performance since joining the Hampshire League.
The match held sentimental value for Montgomery, as it was his final innings before he relocates to Northern Ireland.

Despite the record-smashing performances, the attendees held a moment's silence for Montgomery's departure, who is a much-adored figure among club members.
Acknowledgment must be made for the Wilton fielders, who maintained their enthusiasm and sportsmanship despite the strong performance from Collingbourne.
Wilton displayed grit in their response, amassing as many runs as possible to aid their bonus points.
However, the team eventually succumbed at 127 all out.
This victory places Collingbourne third in the North West Division 5 of the Hampshire League.
