PRO-wrestling excitement gripped Tidworth as British Kingdom Pro Wrestling (BK Pro) made its inaugural appearance in the town.

For more than two decades, the promotion has been a staple in the Southwest, showcasing an impressive mix of global and local wrestling talents.

The event, at Tidworth Civic Centre on Sunday, June 23, was headlined by a high-stakes clash between the outspoken BK Pro Heavyweight Champion, The Stallion Chris Bronson, and his challenger, The English Lion Eddie Ryan.

Bronson, accompanied to the ring by his mentor, British wrestling icon Doug Williams, and the imposing 'Demolition Woman' LA Taylor, faced a chorus of boos from the crowd.

 Eddie Ryan applies the Sharpshooter on Chris Bronson (Image: Emma Meek Photo) The match took a dramatic turn as Williams and Taylor's interference led to their ejection from ringside by the referee. Just as Ryan seemed poised for victory with his Sharpshooter hold on Bronson, "The Italian Stallion" Antonio De Luca interfered, sparking a melee that brought fan-favourite Saime Sahim into the fray. The chaos culminated in the match being converted into a tag team battle, where Sahim's spectacular 'Saimesault' secured a win for his team.

Earlier in the evening, the crowd was stirred by De Luca's provocative remarks about the UK, shortly after his match against Sahim was declared a no contest due to Bronson's interruption. Despite his criticisms, De Luca's athleticism was impressive for someone returning to the ring after an eight year hiatus.

In other matches, Mega Pegasus triumphed over Tiger Ali with a breathtaking flying cross body from the top rope. Ali, still recuperating from a recent illness, showed commendable resilience despite the loss.

The veteran, "The Saviour" JD Knight, also left his mark on the event with a controversial win over young Lion Heart Tristan Lee. Distracting the ref and hitting Lee with a low blow for the victory, Knight took to the microphone saying the match had been “too easy” and demanding another opponent. This brought out Chicago Desailly. Knight's underhanded tactics were later thwarted when Lee returned to the ring to stop Knight’s cheating. Desailly secured the victory.  

A spokesperson for the organisers said: "British Kingdom Pro Wrestling's debut in Tidworth was a night filled with thrilling matches, unexpected twists, and unforgettable characters, setting a high bar for future events in the region.

"Fans left the civic centre buzzing with excitement, eagerly anticipating the next opportunity to see their heroes and villains clash in the squared circle."
