WITH three matches under their belt, Andover Lawn Tennis Club's Men's A team are leading Division 1 of the Basingstoke League.
Despite the absence of team captain, Adrian Shapter, during their most recent match against Oakley A, the team showed a strong and dynamic game strategy.
The first pair, Gregor Corcoran and Kyrill Kennett, displayed a level of tennis that left the opposition trailing, losing only two games in four sets.
The duo, who have contested the club's men's singles finals twice, paired strong serving and heavy ground strokes to secure two straight set victories over the Oakley pairs.
Meanwhile, second pair, Andrew Winnett and Marty Isherwood, previous club doubles champions, demonstrated their tactical prowess at the net.
Precision and elegance concluded each point, leading them to a comfortable duo of victories against Oakley's pairs.
A triumphant 8-0 victory on a warm summer's day at Balksbury elevated an already satisfied team to the top of their division.
