Two Under 11’s football teams from Andover have been treated to new kit and a free meal at the Weyhill branch of McDonald’s.
Coach, Lee Cogan, 39 said the boys were very excited at the new sponsorship: “They all just love their new tops. We are very fortunate to have some amazing sponsors on board, all the boys have new tracksuit tops, training Ts, match day kits, plus new training equipment, but this was a real highlight.”
Lee, who's lived in Andvoer all his life coaches both Andover New Street teams; the under 11’s Swifts - who train on Saturdays, and the Saints who play on Sundays.
He’s been coaching and managing teams at the club for six years, starting with the under 7’s. Beaming with pride he said:
“The under 11’s are a cracking bunch of boys and we have great support from the parents. The boys are good friends and meet to play during the week. The new gear saves the parents from having to shell out on new kit as it can be expensive.”

Both teams play in the top division in the Testway Youth League and earlier this year had the chance to put their prowess to the test on premiership pitches.
Lee explained: “I entered them into a tournament and both teams made the semi-final, the Saints played at Selhurst Park, Crystal Palace’s home ground in June and the Swifts played at Chelsea's home ground Stamford Bridge in May. Although the teams lost it was a great experience for them.”
